Under the Plaza of Villanueva's Spain of Cordova, the history of the Spanish Civil war has a guarded exchequer. There one finds the Air-raid shelter of the Civil war best preserved of the province, a space recovered now for municipal activities and in order that this dark episode of the history does not stay in the oblivion.
Constructed in 1937 to protect the population of the air bombardments, it is a question of an enormous space divided into five ships by splendid arcades of red brick that they rest on thick props of granite. It takes three tunnels as an access, one of which reaches 70 meters.
