The Historical Museum of Belmez and the Mining Territory is located in the old pósito de la Villa building, Calle Córdoba 3. The project of its creation was devised and approved in the plenary session of the Corporation on November 11, 1997, with the objective to give legality to the historical collection exhibited in the same building since 1995 (although the conditioning works date back to 1992 and 1993. It was provisionally registered in the Registry of Museums of the Junta de Andalucía in 1998, although it was not until March 9, 1999, when he obtained his final registration.
