The Courtyards of Córdoba were declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity by Unesco in 2012 and represent the Cordoba way of life in houses with courtyard, bars and garden balconies, in which the fundamental decorative element is flowers.
The Festival of the courtyards of Córdoba is a contest that is celebrated, generally, during the second and third week of the month of May. Participants open, free of charge, their courtyards so that they can be visited within the schedule established for that purpose.
